The ‘deep-dive sub’ tragedy/mystery!

In a ‘traditional’ submarine the bottom of the hull is perforated to allow water to enter, causing it to submerge (sink). This part of the hull has air chambers above the ballast water line that controls the depth the sub submerges. To surface, compressed air is applied to the water chamber, to expel enough of the water to restore buoyancy. This could be very difficult to do in a ‘deep diver’, because the water you would need to expel at 13,000 feet of depth is at about 6,000 lbs. per square inch. Very few gases can be compressed to that pressure. The ‘deep diver’ probably used ‘solid’ ballast, like iron weights, or maybe a combination of solid and air. In the case of solid weights, they would need to be jettisoned at the Titanic site in order to surface. If it used a combination and the air chambers sprung a leak, like a leak in an innertube in a tire, the loss of air in the chamber would allow water to enter, causing a loss of buoyancy, and the sub would not be able to surface. If extreme high-pressure gas was used to discharge the water ballast, and the pressure tanks were leaking, it would cause the pressure in the air tanks to fall to a point the tanks could not resist the pressure from the sea water, causing them to collapse, much like a milk tanker collapses when you forget to open the air vent. The rest is history. I heard that the last that was heard from the sub was they were falling too fast, and were trying to jettison ballast! If that was compressed air they were using, they were accelerating their own doom. That’s my theory. So much for the tragedy, now for the mystery! Why did the Commander in Chief, President Biden, think it was necessary for the Navy to continue the search when they heard the ‘sonic boom’ on Sunday and found the debris field on Monday? He let this ‘charade’, at great public expense, continue until late Thursday! But it sure kept Hunters guilty plea, and Joe's bribery scandals, and Joe's articles of impeachment, and Adam Schiff's problems out of the news media for nearly a week. Way to go Joe, you are consistent!
