O, Oprah!

I just noticed an O magazine in the checkout at the local grocery store, with a portrait type picture of Breonna Taylor on the cover. The thought that went through my mind was to wonder if Oprah had given any thought to how long Ms. Taylor had ‘harbored’ her drug running boyfriend in her apartment before the cops obtained the ‘no knock’ warrant to take him in. The boyfriend ‘in residence’ didn’t deny he ‘opened fire’ on the cops, who returned fire on the gunman, Ms. Taylor, the ‘innocent’ lady harboring a known drug dealer was ‘collateral damage’, how innocent was she? You know the cops were not carrying a ‘blanket’ no-knock warrant with them, they had to apply to a judge for it. Their claim that a wanted drug dealer was or had been holed up in that apartment proved to be true. It is also obviously true that he at least was armed and dangerous. I didn’t buy Oprah’s magazine to read the article, but the subtitle and the picture told me what I would find if I read it. Oprah has thrown ‘reason’ to the wind, and is full steam ahead on her crusade to ‘get even’ with the rotten, unfair, no good ‘white’ society that assisted her in every way possible to make her a billionaire! Breonna Taylor just joins Michael Brown, George Floyd, Jacob Blake, Rayshard Brooks, and several others in a common bond, they were all ‘resisting arrest’ when they got killed. There are, in my opinion, two faults connected to these killings by police, the first, the no knock warrants, which openly ‘on its face’ violates the US Constitution, should be prohibited, by executive order, if necessary. Over the years ‘no knock’ warrants have caused many mistakes, the ‘losses’ far outweighing any benefit. Who really cares if a few drugs get flushed down the toilet. There is a better way to do things. In the case of George Floyd, himself no angel, Derek Chauvin went ‘way overboard’ on the force necessary to subdue George Floyd. Chauvin will pay the price for his poor judgement. And Oprah? once the ‘darling’ of suburban white women, she will just use her fortune to continue her pointless crusade! Have a nice day.
