A Prolific Corn Stalk!

A single corn plant sprang up in our backyard, obviously from a stray kernel of corn from our wild bird seed. As the stalk matured I noticed it had many ‘ear’ pods developing, by actual count, eight. As corn normally has one or two ears on a plant, I thought I would check it out by speaking with the ‘Octomom’ corn plant. I approached Mrs. Corn and said good morning Mrs. Corn, how are you, she replied “estoy bien, gracias”, I responded with “you speak Spanish” she, ‘si senor”, do you also speak English, she, “si senor”. I continued with “I noticed you have many ears on your stalk, isn’t that unusual? She replied, no, in Mexico where I live it’s a tradition, I have a Catholic mother and my father was a Mormon missionary, so I am expected to “go forth and populate the earth”, that's why I have 8 ears on my stock! But Mrs. Corn, it will probably be difficult for you to support 8 ears, it would probably be easier if you only had one or two. She replied ‘no problemico’ if I can't support 8 ears, the ‘Padre’ will give me some money and I can migrate across the river to Norte Americano, where everything is free! I replied, “but Mrs. Corn you are already in America, and she, “OMG, I must have got here in the Wild Bird Seed, now what can I do”? I replied, “You probably won’t have to worry about it for very long, it was 30 degrees here this morning at 7:00 AM so your ‘ears’ will probably all be stillborn”. Have a Nice Day.
